This book is aimed for the people who may want to learn how to use PIC series of microcontrollers and GSM/GPRS modems in their projects using the mikroC programming language. The highly popular PIC16F887 microcontroller has been taken and used as an example microcontroller in the book. In addition, the SIM340Z GSM/GPRS modem card is used in modem based projects. All of the projects in the book have been built and tested. The PIC microcontroller development board EasyPIC 5 is used to construct the projects. In addition, the Smart GSM/GPRS development board is used together with a PC or with the EasyPIC 5 development board to construct modem based projects. The book makes an introduction to the PIC16F887 microcontroller and then teaches the basic principles of program development using the mikroC programming language.
