Он считал, что шрифт и архитектура находятся в тесной внутренней связи, поэтому законы построения у них должны быть общими, и если античная архитектура имеет в своей основе пропорции человеческого тела, то классическая соразмерность должна быть использована, по мнению художника, и при построении шрифта.
