Название: Managing 3D Printing: Operations Management for Additive Manufacturing Автор: Daniel Eyers Издательство: Palgrave Macmillan Год: 2020 Страниц: 205 Язык: английский Формат: pdf (true), epub Размер: 10.1 MB
This edited book serves to unify the current state of knowledge for 3D printing / Additive Manufacturing and its impact on manufacturing operations. Bringing together leading experts from across the operations and supply chain disciplines the contributions offer a concise, accessible, and focused text for researchers and practitioners alike. Showing how 3DP can be implemented in a multitude of business models, the book explores how to manage 3DP both in the production environment and wider supply chain.
Traditionally, 3D printing technologies have their roots in the prototyping industries. Known for many years as “Rapid Prototyping”, 3DP was almost exclusively used to produce aesthetic and functional prototypes, and occasional low-volume components. These applications saw limited implementation scenarios, with specialist operators accounting for the bulk of production. Technological advances, together with a push toward production-level implementation of 3D technologies has led to a far greater variety of machines, and therefore greater variety in their applications.
