The progress of military aviation in World War l, and especially during the final battles in 1917/18, caused the participating nations to realise that air power had developed to the point where it could influenced decisions on the battle field. This illustrated history may help to dispel some of the pre-judged and inaccurate impressions that are prevalent to this day and give the reader a more balanced view of the events of that time. This book is written also for the many members of the German Luftwaffe who gave their lives for their country, and who were our comrades.
