В подавляющем большинстве случаев горный театр представляет собой местность, сильно пересеченную хребтами к отрогами, с отдельными возвышающимися вершинами, со всхолмленными плоскогорьями (плато), прорезанными продольными и поперечными долинами. По хребтам в верховьях долин и ущелий кое-где встречаются перевалы, расположенные нередко на высоте вечных снегов. Перевалы — это важнейшие пункты горного театра; их расположение определяет пути наступления и задачи обороны. | |
