There are approximately six hundred distros available in Linux. Out of these six hundred distros, five hundred distros are in active development. The distribution has taken a wide variety of forms as there is huge availability of softwares. Majority of the distros are specified with sets of instruction and are available in ready to use format, while some distros are distributed mostly in source code form and compiled locally during installation.
