Автор этой книги Вальтер Холличер — австрийский ученый-коммунист — хорошо известен советскому читателю. В 1966 году’вторым; изданием на русском языке вышла его книга «Природа в научной картине мира», встретившая положительный отклик нашей научной общественности. «Человек в научной картине мира» является завершением грандиозного замысла автора — дать панорамное изображение научной картины современного мира и места человека в нем. Как признается сам автор, «эта книга о человеке, подобно предыдущей книге о природе, написана в порядке философского обзора, в форме анализа с философскими выводами, постоянного сопоставления марксистских взглядов с идеями философов противоположного нам направления» (стр. 423). К числу несомненных достоинств книги относится популярность изложения наиболее сложных научных и общественно-политических проблем и четко выраженная марксистская методология их решения. Руководствуясь принципом историзма, автор рассматривает физические, психические и общественные особенности современного человека. Сложный сплав природного, индивидуального и социального, ключевое положение марксизма о сущности человека как совокупности общественных отношений раскрываются в книге на богатом фактическом и научном материале. В острой принципиальной полемике с современными идеалистическими теориями автор дает научную критику буржуазных концепций глобального антропологического отчуждения (Сартр, Фромм и др.), показывает несостоятельность попыток современного психоанализа гибридизировать фрейдизм и исторический материализм. Изучение человека формулируется им как комплексная задача, требующая синтетического подхода. Обобщая новейшие данные современного мирового развития, опыта и теории социализма, автор помогает читателю разобраться в обширной и сложной проблематике современных наук о человеке. | |

The opening battles on the Western Front marked a watershed in military history.
