Название: The Cloud in IoT-enabled Spaces Автор: Fadi Al-Turjman Издательство: CRC Press Год: 2019 Страниц: 313 Язык: английский Формат: pdf (true) Размер: 10.1 MB
The Cloud in IoT-enabled Spaces addresses major issues and challenges in IoT-based solutions proposed for the Cloud. It paves the way for IoT-enabled spaces in the next generation cloud computing paradigm and opens the door for further innovative ideas. Topics include Cloud-based optimization in the IoT era, scheduling and routing, medium access, data caching, secure access, uncertainty, home automation, Machine Learning in wearable devices, energy monitoring, and plant phenotyping in farming.
Smart spaces are solutions where the Internet of Things (IoT)-enabling technologies have been employed towards further advances in the lifestyle. It tightly integrates with the existing Cloud infrastructure to impact several fields in the academia and/or industry. IoT-enabled spaces have made revolutionary advances in the Cloud that we know so far. Cloud is used not only in computing applications but also in our daily activities towards more intelligent health, traffic, and even farming systems. Cloud enabled with IoT features is expected to integrate smoothly with the emerging fifth-generation (5G) networks and beyond in the next-generation telecommunication paradigms. This opens the door for other exciting research and application opportunities. In this book, we are considering significant research topics towards realizing the future vision of Cloud in IoT-enabled spaces.
Cloud computing (CC) and IoT-based techniques have been merged with wireless networks (WNs) for the purpose of storage and data access anytime and anywhere. In the Cloud, users can find the set of required hardware devices, network connections, storage spaces, data services, and application interfaces that are easily accessed over the Internet. As the CC paradigm will be shortly integrated with intelligent IoT spaces, user authentication, task scheduling, medium access, and the forthcoming smart applications (indoor and outdoor) will all be hot research topics and open issues to be further investigated and validated.
