Internet of things (IOT) is a kind of network that collects real-time information through various information sensing devices, connects any real object in the physical world with the Internet according to the pre-defined protocol. IOT carries out information transmission and interaction, to achieve the purpose of intelligent identification, accurate positioning, tracking and control of information.
The IOT has three basic characteristics: interconnection, deep perception and intelligent service. The basic feature of the IOT is interconnection. Firstly, the IOT should be able to meet the communication requirements of a variety of heterogeneous networks, heterogeneous terminals and sensor devices, to prepare for the next step of sensing and interaction of a large amount of data. Deep sensing is the key of the IOT, which provides the processed sensing data through multi-level fusion and collaborative processing of physical sensing information. According to the information to the application layer, the IOT should be able to achieve the function of intelligent services. According to the results of real-time perception and information fusion of the physical environment, the IOT makes its own decisions to dynamically adapt to the real-time changing physical world.
The IOT should have three significant functions: comprehensive perception, reliable transmission and intelligent processing. Comprehensive perception refers to the use of radio frequency identification (RFID), sensors, QR code and other sensor devices to comprehensively collect the object information of the physical world. Reliable transmission is the real-time and accurate transmission of the perceived information through a variety of communication networks and the Internet. Intelligent processing is the use of cloud computing, fuzzy identification and other intelligent computing technologies in the analysis and processing of a large amount of data to achieve intelligent control.
