Human neural networks are also responsible for the creation of artificial neural networks; complex computing systems that mimic the memory and learning processes of the brain. Electronic neural networks are a type of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can perform a number of tasks that traditionally required human effort. Computers equipped with artificial intelligence can recognize speech, acquire and analyze images, play board games and video games, make medical diagnoses, and translate languages. Artificial Intelligence has also been used in artistic endeavors, to write books and music and even make paintings. While researchers seek new uses for AI every day, there are fears that the technology might create widespread economic disruption.
The term Machine Learning (ML) is often associated with artificial general intelligence (AGI). Machine Learning researchers write algorithms that allow computers to discover patterns in data and classify them according to the elements they contain. The system uses the concept of probability. For example, if an image is circular and contains petals, it is probably a flower. If the petals are white and are attached to a yellow center, it is likely a daisy. During this process the machine determines whether its decisions are correct or incorrect and modifi es its approach when analyzing new images. This information can be used for decision-making and predictions.
Some aspects of Machine Learning have seen rapid improvements due to the huge amount of data generated and stored on the internet. Machines can comb through tens of millions of articles and books available online and learn to better understand and respond to natural language. This helps them analyze documents and answer questions.
